Our History
1933
- Southeastern Electric Exchange also known as the “Exchange” is founded on June 7, 1933 at the Ansley Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.
1934
- John Talley becomes the first Executive Director of Southeastern Electric Exchange
1938
- Engineering and Operation Division Established
1948
- Southeastern Electric Exchange hosted its inaugural conference at the iconic Boca Raton Resort & Club—a tradition that continued for the next 50 years.
1950-1959
- Accident Prevention Committee Established
- Rates and Regulation Committee Established
- Real Estate and Right of Way Committee Established
1960-1969
- Claims Committee Established
- Substation Committee Established
- Transmission Line Committee Established
- William B. Owens takes over as Southeastern Electric Exchange Executive Director
